If you extended the rear end to a point you’d probably gain 10 miles of range.

S uper nice roof line and rear fenders - looks better than the real car.

I wonder if Tesla will do an “Outback”ed version - 2 inch lift and plastic cladding.  It actually might sell pretty well.

I don’t think so - I think that will be handled by the Model Y.  I’m really curious about it, as there’s rumours floating around that it could be a 3-row vehicle.  If it’s going to be that big, I can see a lot of people turning away from it, as that makes me think it could be much larger than the popular RAV4, CR-V, CX3 sized segment that seems to be what everyone is buying now.

Need to lop another 6" out of it - 3" behind the door, and another 3" out of the door.  Otherwise the doors end up being too long.  My wife had a 2-door Cavalier, and it had really long doors, which made getting them open in tight parking spaces a bit tricky.

Problem is that you can’t really shorten the wheelbase without reducing battery capacity, AFAIK.

It looks like an Acura version of an Accord coupe to me.

So move the firewall back and put the space taken from the rear into the area between the doors and the front wheels. Give it the proportions of an Aston instead of an MX-6.

I like it. Proportions remind me of an R8.

Although to my eyes, it’s starting to approach the proportions of a Group C car or something like a McLaren Speedtail...

You could double layer the battery where the back seat would normally go.

Worth noting that three-row compact crossovers have been done before, including the Toyota Vanguard (3rd-gen RAV4 in the US), 3rd-gen Nissan X-Trail (2nd-gen Rogue in the US), 5th-gen CR-V in some markets (but it’s incompatible with AWD and not available in the US ), all three generations of Mitsubishi Outlander, and the Tiguan Allspace (2nd-gen Tiguan in the US).

Also remember that the Model 3 platform pushes the cockpit further forward than even transverse FWD platforms can, and has similar width and basically the same  length as the larger of the 3-row compact crossovers (the Outlander and Tiguan), only being about 10 cm longer than the smallest of them (5th-gen CR-V). So, fitting a third row in a tall version should actually be easier than fitting one into the existing compact crossovers.

I mean, you could, but that would mean designing an entirely new battery that costs more to assemble.

(Double layering is something that Tesla’s going to do for the Roadster, though.)
